Three Tips to Beat Burnout and Holiday Exhaustion

December is here, and with that, the holiday rush is in full swing. It can feel like a sprint to the new year.

Don’t want to look up and find yourself burnt out, overwhelmed, and exhausted by the time Christmas rolls around? Here are three tips to help you stay physically healthy and mentally sane this holiday season.

Holiday Health Tip #1 - Set very clear intentions

  • Intentions, not goals.

  • How do you want to feel this month?

  • What do you need to do to make that happen?

  • What takes priority right now?

ACTION

Holiday Health Tip #2 - Get extra support

  • What time of day are you the most motivated?

  • Add one thing that brings you joy during the day.

  • Try to get outside once a day. Or look into adding some light therapy, especially within the first 30 minutes of getting up.

ACTION

  • Supplement with Vitamin D (consult with your physician first.)

  • Stay connected, reach out to a friend, or meet with a professional during this time.

Holiday Health Tip #3 - Prioritize your wellbeing

  • Add yourself to your calendar! Look at your weekly schedule and plan time for yourself.

  • What time of day do you have the most time or are the most motivated?

  • Take a mindful moment during your day, even if it's just for 5 minutes.

    • This can look like stretching, journaling, reading a book, dancing to your favorite song, or meditating.

ACTION

  • Set some time for yourself, actually write it on your schedule!

  • Stretch and decompress when you try this mobility series.
