You Have Permission To Restart

You have permission to restart. Whether your New Year’s goals have been forgotten or just aren’t working for you, reassess and restart today.

You don’t need to wait for a Monday or a new month. You can take action now!

  1. Start by reassessing your habits

  1. What has or hasn’t been working for you and why?

  2. What is one thing you want to achieve that you can actually commit to right now?

  3. List any potential roadblocks standing in your way.

2. Write down your action plan

  1. Use the ABC’s of forming lasting habits with the Tiny Habits Recipe Card.

  2. If you have a long-term goal remember to start small and include lots of process goals along the way.

3. Stay accountable

  1. Print a daily calendar. Put an “O” for every day you complete your habit and an “X” for every day you don’t. This helps you to visualize your progress and stay motivated. 

  2. Whether it’s a group, friend, or family member ask someone to be your accountability buddy. Be honest and check in with them often.

Don’t be afraid to re-reassess

  1. If you find that your new habit isn’t working for you, find something that does! There is no “perfect time” to restart so stop waiting. There are so many small impactful changes you can make for your health. Start where you are right now and start small.

  2. “Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten.” - Bill Gates 

  3. Your big health goal might not get accomplished this year. That doesn’t mean you can’t radically change your health. Consistent small actions (even imperfect ones) add up. So keep going, you can do this, you can’t mess this up!


There’s a reason I’m always talking about goal and habit setting. Creating habits, especially health-related ones isn’t easy. For them to stick you must take into account factors such as lifestyle, genetics, pre-existing conditions, education, time, age, and many more.
